"Early October I was advised that my current homeowners carrier Markel was no longer going to insure mobile homes in my area (Princess Anne, MD) after my current policy expired on Nov. 17, so I began a search for quotes for a new carrier. I had a few places preparing quotes and then contacted State Farm. On Oct. 6 the agent asked me some questions on the phone about the type of property (mobile home), size, location, year built etc. which I answered. The home was built in 1972 which I told him. So he gave me a phone quote and I went in to sign papers, which I did and submitted a check to State Farm for the total amount effective Nov. 17. He said I would be getting papers directly from State Farm soon. Based on this I contacted others I had asked for quotes to tell them I found coverage and would not be needing them. Some time passed and I wondered where my papers were since I hadn’t received anything. I considered calling a few times but didn’t want to be a pest or rush anyone. Finally on Dec. 11 I called to speak to the agent and ask the status of my policy. He checked and informed me that State Farm rejected my application due to my place being older than 1976 which is when the HUD codes were required for mobile homes, and he said a letter should be on the way with a refund. So once again I had to scramble to find coverage, after telling some insurers who were working on quotes that I did not need them. The agent should have known the parameters of coverage and that they would not cover my home, and all of this should never have happened, maybe someone there needs to review pending policies. Also the agent follow-up was nonexistent and slow on State Farm’s part. I finally got a partial refund on 12-23-25. State Farm deducted for the time in between. State Farm should be shut down. I used them years ago for home and auto and they screwed me around on both. I had hoped they had their act together, but no. That's my experience."

"I had a not so pleasant increase that had me looking for a new insurance company and I let them know as much. Kyleigh worked on my account and called me with a significant savings therefore totally saving me as a customer. She was very helpful and very nice..
